Ghana striker Abdul Majeed Waris is ready to prove his fitness level after making quicker than expected return from injury.
The 22-year-old returned to training with his teammates on Friday after a thigh injury sidelined him for some few days.
Waris picked up the problem during last Mondayââ¬â¢s final pre-World Cup warm-up against South Korea in Miami.
But he must pass the fitness test to ensure he is considered for selection in their opener against USA on Monday in Natal.
ââ¬ÅI am really delighted to be back today and I hope I can contribute positively to the team when the times come,â⬠he told GHANASoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅI feel good and I will hope to continue working hard to aid the team.ââ¬
Waris scored nine goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances for Valenciennes on a six-month loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow the just ended season.
