Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed he is looking forward to taking on Portugal’s Pepe during their 2014 FIFA World Cup finals Group G clash.

Gyan, who won the UAE Arabian Gulf League goal king, is one of the in-form players going to the tournament.

He scored 29 league goals and also top the scorers chart in the Asian Champions League with ten goals.

However, Gyan’s form has been downplayed with his critics saying he cannot stand some of the best defenders who play in the strongest league like Real Madrid’s Pepe.

But the Al Ain is prepared for the one-on-battles in Brazil.

"Pepe is a world class defender who plays at a top level week in week out. We will take each game as it comes and give off our best to qualify from the group

"Once we get to Portugal, I am sure I will enjoy the personal battle with him (Pepe)." Gyan has scored four goals in two World Cup finals.
