Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has got a huge fan base in Brazil after local fans in Maceio rooted for him during Friday’s training at the Estadio Rei Pele.

The Orlando Pirates is fighting for the No.1 slot ahead of the Black Stars opener on Monday against USA but remains the most popular of the three goalkeepers in camp.

One of the banners captured by the media read: “FATAWU DAUDA. THE BEST GHANAIAN GK! GOOD LUCK GHANA. GIVE ME YOUR SHIRT PLEASE!.

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is yet to settle to which goalkeeper will be between the sticks after assessing both Dauda and in-form Adam Larsen Kwarasey in pre-World Cup friendlies.

Dauda lacked playing time at his club Orlando Pirates last season.
