The Ghanaian community in Uganda have thrown their support behind the Black Stars of Ghana in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier to be played on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Kampala.

Ghana are playing as visitors to Uganda in the crucial qualifier and the Ghanaian community see it as a responsibility to throw their weight behind the team.

Speaking on behalf of the Ghanaian community in the East African country, Abdul Wahab Mahama, popularly known in Ghana as Mugabe, disclosed that they have organised all Ghanaians not only in Kampala but in every corner in Uganda to support the team.

"We are poised to support our team against Uganda. We know the Ugandans are overly determined to the game but no matter how little our number will be, we are here to support the team to win the game,"Abdul Wahab said.

"We have organised all the Ghanaians who are at the part of the country to come and join us in Kampala to support the team.

"We know we have the quality to beat Uganda and they can only defeat against us with luck.

"Our major prayer is that it shouldn't rain. Because the pitch becomes horrible when it rains and that can affect us negatively. But if it doesn't rain, we will give them a good game," he added.

He also lauded the leadership of the Black Stars team for promising to give them some tickets to mitigate their costs in buying the tickets.
