2018 World Cup qualifier: Ghana won't let poor pitch play havoc with plans for qualifier against Uganda

Published on: 07 October 2017

Despite the sorry state of the Namboole pitch, Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah insists Black Stars will put up a great show on Saturday afternoon in the 2018 World Cup Qualifier.

The Cranes of Uganda take on the Black Stars of Ghana in a crucial qualifier on Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Kampala.

But a massive Church crusade held on the pitch two days before the game has left the surface in a swampy shape for the game.

But Kwasi Appiah says that will not deter his side from putting up their best against the Cranes.

"We are all playing on the same surface. It's possible they are familiar with the pitch but we will all be playing on it.

"I have already psyched the players that regardless of the good pitches they play on with their clubs, this is what Uganda have provided. We can't afford to blame the pitch for any bad results," Kwasi Appiah told Ghanasoccernet.com
