Aduana make history by winning Ghana Premier League

Aduana Stars made history by winning the Ghana Premier League at their first attempt in the top flight on the final day of competition on Wednesday.

Aduana beat Arsenals 1-0 at home to oust then leaders AshantiGold which stuttered 0-1 at the Golden City Park to Bechem Chelsea.

The Dormaa-Ahenkro based team are tied on 53 points with AshGold but claimed their first league silverware on the head-to-head rule.

Aduana Stars become the ninth club to win the Ghana Premier League in its 54-year-old history.

Great Olympics were relegated for the third time in five years after a 5-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko fought back to end the season in fifth place in a troubled campaign.
