Aduana Stars captain Emmanuel Akuoku has intimated that their target is to qualify for the group stage of next year CAF Champions League.

The Fire Boys clinched last season's Ghana Premier League title and will represent the nation in next year's CAF elite club competition.

Ghanaian clubs have failed to make to the group stage of the competition since Berekum Chelsea achieved the feat in 2012.

And Akuoku, who played an integral role during the side's league triumph, has stated that their main goal is to break the jinx.

“Our main motive is to go through the preliminaries and make it to the Group stage, for now that is our target and we will set a new one after we achieve this. Everything is step by step,”Akuoku told footballmadeinghana.com

“I think we have a strong all-round team capable of going all out in the tournament. Management will surely bring in few additions to make the team more stronger for Africa. We will go all out to make Ghana proud,”

He added, “Pre-season has begun but I finally joined last Thursday and everything is going on well. We are all well equipped for the task ahead."

He added: “I have heard the rumors that I am going to Kotoko but it is not true, I am staying at Aduana. I love the club and I am enjoying my football here.”
