Aduana Stars CEO Albert Commey has hit back at Databank CEO Kojo Addae Mensah for predicting the early exit of the GHANA Premier League champions from next year's CAF Champions League.

The Dormaa Ahenkro-based side emerged winners of the Ghana Premier League for the second time since their promotion in 2009 and after failing to lift the trophy despite coming close last season.

But the CEO of Databank, a football enthusiast has predicted the Ghanaian champions will be booted out of next year's CAF Champions League insisting WAFA deserved the title more than Aduana Stars.

"WAFA are the best team in the just ended Ghana Premier League. Aduana won the league though but from what we saw in the course of the season you cannot look past WAFA as the best club in Ghana," Addae-Mensah stated on Happy FM's Anopa Bosuo Sports.

To him, Aduana Stars intimidated their opponents at Dormaa to win the league.

"Did WAFA intimidate any club at Sogakofe? Did they stop StarTimes from telecasting their game? WAFA did everything professionally and it will be prudent for every club in the country to follow their model."

"Aduana won the league but I don't consider them the best in the country, and my assertion will be justified when they are eliminated in the first round of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage," Kojo Addae Mensah intimated.

This chant by the former Kotoko Express columnist has not gone down well with the CEO of Aduana Stars who has responded in like manner.

"I have read several of such garbage stories but I only laugh at it because it has no substance.

"For the calibre of Mr. Kojo Addae Mensah to make such a prediction is unfortunate. But one can see his fanatism has clouded his judgement," Commey told Ghanasoccernet.com

"Did he know or check where the worse officiating happened this season? Is he saying it doesn't happened in their so called European soccer? Commey furiously questioned.

The hardworking CEO of Aduana Stars and an ExCo Member of the Ghana FA then said the comments of the Databank CEO will not discourage them but rather encourage them to surprise many in their Champions League campaign.

"These unfortunate and unfounded statements do not the least disturb us but rather encourages us to work hard.

"In Sha Allah, the God that saw us through the GPL will guide us again in the Champions League and we will never disgrace Ghana," he confidently said.

Commey, who has been forced out of his comfort zone by the comments of Kojo Addae Mensah reiterated the massive investment the Dormaahene has made into football to create a living for many and advised that all should encourage people like the Nana Dormaahene instead of discouraging them.

"I sincerely thank him (Kojo Addae Mensah) for all his unfortunate attacks on us. Perhaps he has his hidden hatred for the club or the GPL.

"Nana Agyemang Badu II has invested a lot and continues to invest in Ghana football not for the fun of it but for economic and social benefits of Ghana as whole. Let's, therefore, cherish the efforts of such silent personalities within our society," he concluded.

Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in next year's CAF club competitions for winning the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup respectively.
