The Black Stars suffered another shipwreck penalty as they lost against Ivory Coast's Elephants in the AFCON 2015 final at Bata on Sunday night.

The two sides had failed to score within regulation and extra time despite Ghana coming closer with Christian Atsu and Andre Ayew hitting the woodwork twice.

GHANAsoccernet.com runs the rule over the performance of the Black Stars in the AFCON 2015 final against Ivory Coast's Elephants in Bata, Equatorial Guinea.

RAZAK BRAIMAH (GOALKEEPER) 7

Well-positioned to stop a dangerous Yaya Toure free-kick in the 13th minute. Apart from a couple of slips in the first-half, the Mirandes man was solid in post. His timing and positioning was just excellent on the night.

HARRISON AFFUL (RIGHT FULL-BACK) 7

Fantastic display by the Esperance man. Contained Yaya Gervinho and the rest of the Ivorian wing-men well enough.

ABDUL BABA RAHMAN (LEFT FULL-BACK) 7.5

Went to sleep at some point and nearly gifted Max Gradel the opening goal in the 16th minute. Afterwards his interventions and visionary passes were key in the game for Ghana. Got the better of Gervinho in most of their one-on-ones.

JONATHAN MENSAH (CENTRAL DEFENCE) 7

Had a fairly good game though had little problems at time dealing with Bonny and Doumbia.

JOHN BOYE (CENTRAL DEFENCE) 7

True commander! Ever present in position to deal with dangerous balls.

AFRIYIE ACQUAH (CENTRAL MIDFIELD) 8.5

Despite Yaya Toure & Co.'s strong physical presence in midfield, the Parma man played as if there was no pressure at all. Cool, calm, composed and collected.

WAKASO MUBARAK (MIDFIELD) 7

Enjoyed a lively game as he got involved in 50-50 midfield tussles. Fired  some canons at goal which were all blocked.

ANDRE AYEW (RIGHT WING) 8

Terrorizing and tenacious. Worked tireless all night. Had the boldness to take any defender in the Ivorian third.

CHRISTIAN ATSU (LEFT WING) 8

Tormentor in chief. If you wanted to shoot at the Ivorians there was just one way to do it - a thunderbolt. The Everton man created Ghana's best goal chance in the 25th minute with a sensational drive from 20 yards.

ASAMOAH GYAN (FORWARD) 7

Gyan struggled to get the supplies upfront but he made good use of the few once that came his way.

KWESI APPIAH (FORWARD) 6.5

Not the desirable of performance from the Crystal Palace man. Was completely marked out of the game by the Ivorian defenders. He was replaced by Jordan Ayew mid-way through the second-half.
