West Ham United is kicked out of Europa League

West Ham United's European title ambitions suffered a huge blow on Wednesday night as the Hammers succumbed to an unbelievable home loss against an unfancied Romanian side.

The Hammers fans watching at the London Olympic Stadium had high hopes of securing passage to the next stage of UEFA Europa League.

But Romanian top-flight side Astra Giurgiu packed a shock for the hammers fans as they defeated the Premier League side 1-0 in a painful style.

The heartbreak from the loss still remains deep as Slavan Bilic's failed to entice the Hammers fans with the promising attractive attacking football.

West Ham claimed a 1-1 stalemate from the first leg in Romania and appeared ready to cruise to victory but they ended laughing at the wrong side of their mouths as they lost on a 2-1 aggregate.

Ayew, injured with hamstring, probably watching from the stands was left stunned and glued to his seat as his teammates failed to secure their status in the competition.

The 26-year-old Ghana vice captain picked a hamstring injury on his Premier League debut for the Hammers and is billed to return in November.

This means there will be no continental competition for the ex-Olympique Marseille star when he recovers from injury.
