Asamoah Gyan keenly awaiting Ghana friendly against England

 

 

 

News of the match scheduled for Wembley on 29 March, broken by GHANAsoccernet.com on Sunday, has delighted fans of the Black Stars.

It has now emerged that just like the fans of the Ghana national team, the players are also keenly awaiting the first clash between the two sides.

Obviously keen on winning the bragging rights, Gyan who is the Black Stars key striker, told Kickoffghana that the two sides will impress.

"It will be a very good game. England is a good team so it will be exciting to play against them,” Gyan said.

“We on the other hand are growing in confidence so the chance to face them in a high profile game like this is exciting."

The match against the Three Lions will be played just three days after Ghana's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, away to Congo. 

Ghana were just a Gyan missed penalty away from reaching the semi-finals of last year's World Cup in South Africa before losing in a shoot-out to Uruguay.

 The Black Stars' side is set to feature several players familiar to English fans with Michael Essien, John Pantsil, Gyan, Richard Kingson and John Mensah all currently appearing for Premier League clubs. 

England have met Ghana at youth level, with the Africans convincing 4-0 winners at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup two years ago.

England intorduced the game to Ghana but the Black Stars are keen to show te originators of the game that they have perfected the trade.
