Kotoko chief Dr Kwame Kyei is confident his side will flourish in next year's CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors will represent the West African's in Africa's inter club competition after beating rivals Hearts of Oak to clinch the FA Cup crown on Sunday.

The two-time African champions have flattered to deceive on the continent since they reached the finals of the Confederation Cup 13-year-old ago, losing a nail-biting final to internal rivals Hearts of Oak.

But the club's chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has vowed the record Ghanaian Premier League title holders will succeed.

“For some time now Kotoko have been struggling in Africa, the team is unable to even get to the group stage and is worrying,” he spoke to Adom TV.

“But this time around we will make it a point to get far in the competition.

“We will try and do all we can to regain Ghana’s image in Africa, and with the support of the fans and everyone, I know we will achieve that feat.”

Kotoko only made it to the group stage of the Confederations Cup in 2004 where they were able to get all the way to the finals only to lose to rivals Hearts of Oak.
