Special assistant to Dr Kwame Kyei, Nana Kwasi Gyembibi has highlighted the reasons behind Asante Kotoko pitching a mid-season camp away from Kumasi.

The Porcupine Warriors have hogged the headlines over the weeks following management decision to terminate contracts of six players as well as placing three more on transfer.

"We couldn't have opted for any place better than Mampong to keep the team a bit away from Kumasi especially the new ones because of the pressure mounting," Nana Gyembibi told Oyerepa FM.

"We also had to take advantage of the league break to fine tune our team. I will only plead with the supporters to be patient with our new players especially."

The Porcupine Warriors played 1-1 stalemate with Kum Apem Royals in a friendly encounter.

The playing body and management will pay a visit to Mamponghene on Sunday.
