Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have appointed former player Ebo Mends as their new coach for next season. Mends, 48, quit Premier League contenders Berekum Arsenals at the end of the season to agree a two-year deal.
Kotoko had a disappointing season last term to finish sixth on the league table and Mends has promised to revive the club.
"It's time to take Kotoko to that level, and I pledge to work with my team to reach that limit," he said after being introduced to the press on Monday.
Mends was a member of Asante Kotoko's 1983 Africa Club Championship winning squad and played for the club from 1982-1985.
