Ayew replaced in Zamalek roster Ibrahim

Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Ayew is expected to complete his switch to Belgian outfit Lierse after he was axed from the Zamalek squad.

The Egyptian side omitted the Ghanaian international from their roster and included Algerian striker Mohamed Aoudia instead.

The decision has paved the way for Ayew, the son of legend Abedi Pele, to join Lierse who have reached an agreement on his personal terms.

Zamalek rejected an initial offer of US$50,000 for the utility player last week but after axing him from the squad they are expected to allow him to leave.

Twenty-three-year-old Aoudia penned a two-and-a-half year deal with the Cairo club late last month and now he's eligible to feature for his new team.

The Egyptian FA's rules stipulate that each club cannot sign more than three expatriates.

Subsequently, the signing of Aoudia obliged Zamalek to dispense with one of their three other foreign players.

The exclusion of the out-of-favor Ayew was no surprise as he hardly played for the 11-time Egyptian champions this season.

The international frontman has already revealed his intention of leaving Zamalek.

He's set depart in the immediate future.

Besides Aoudia, Hossam Hassan's side boast two non-Egyptian players in Ivorian striker Abou Kone and Iraqi hitman Emad Mohamed.

Emad, who was keen to terminate his contract with Zamalek shortly after his arrival last summer, recently joined Iranian outfit Shahin Bushehr on loan.
