Berekum Arsenal have lodged an official protest against the decisions of referee Sylvester Dozorsu in their controversial 2-1 defeat at Tema Youth on Sunday.

The centre man awarded a 95th minute penalty against the Gunners and subsequently showed goalkeeper Rashid Mutawakilu a red card.

The protest letter was officially received by the Ghana Football Association at exactly 16:55GMT on Monday.

GHANAsoccernet exclusively intercepted the protest letter which read:"PETITION AGAINST DOUBTFUL PENALTY AWARDED AGAINST BEREKUM ARSENAL BY REFEREE SYLVESTER DOZORSU IN OUR MATCH AGAINST TEMA YOUTH".

"The management of Berekum Arsenal Football Club wishes to appeal to the Ghana Football Association to have a second look at our 10th week match against Tema Youth at the Tema Park.

The bereavement of our case is that referee Sylvester Dozorsu took dubious decisions against Arsenals which deprived us of match points by awarding a doubtful penalty to and subsequently showing a red card to our goalkeeper on the 96th minute in favour of Tema Youth"

"In another instance, a player of Tema Youth slapped an Arsenal player in the full glare of the referee but the culprit was left off the hook only to be shown a yellow card whereas a red card should have been invoked".

"In the spirit of fair play, we call on the FA to call for the video clips for review so that justice can be done in these matters."

The protest was signed by General Secretary Douglas Kwesi Effah.

Arsenal have relegation staring at them as they lie third-from-bottom on the league table.
