Berekum Arsenal survived demotion despite a heavy 4-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak on Sunday on the final day in the Ghana top-flight.

Arsenal stayed in the league after Bechem United lost to New Edubiase United and Mighty Jets drew 1-1 at Berekum Chelsea.

Defender Osei Bonsu opened the scoring on the 7th minute mark before Mahatma Otoo doubled the advantage for the Phobians in the 19th minute.

Moro Abubakar's effort came off Basha Mohammed on 31 minutes before nimble-footed Ollenu Ashitey completed the riot for Hearts.

It was the Phobians biggest victory of the season.

The first department was a clear statement from Hearts to Arsenal they would not show mercy.

Talented midfielder Ollenu Ashitey shimmied Rashid Muntawakilu and was on his way to slotting home into the empty net when the goalie brought him down.

Osei Bonsu grabbed the ball under his armpit before rifling the ball past Muntawakilu for his third clean conversion of the season with just seven minutes gone.

The Phobians clicked into their after the opener and hit cruise control.

Isaac Ofori combined well with Prince Atakora Gyimah in midfield before playing through Mahatma Otoo.

Otoo sent a powerful volley for the doubler in the 19th minute.

Abubakar Moro continued the crusade as his goal-bound effort came off the foot of Basha Mohammed.

After recess Ben Agyei inspired his side to get more goals as Auras graduate Ashitey Ollenu hit the fourth goal.

Isaac Ofori weighed in a corner kick from the right and the nimble-footed midfielder eluded his markers to powerfully direct a header home.

Mahatma Otoo's place was taken by Uriah Asante and the pressure looked more telling on the Berekum-based side.

Arsenal lost heavily but celebrated because Mighty Jets suffered a late draw and Bechem were beaten.
