Berekum Chelsea Coach blast striker Stephen Amankona for being selfish

Head Coach of Berekum Chelsea Svetislav Tanasijevic is frustrated by some of the club's top players, pointing fingers at striker Stephen Amankona, who he describes as selfish.

The Serbian tactician has been disappointed by the club's performances this season, and vented his growing anger on the players after their 1-1 draw with Elmina Sharks over the weekend.

The Blues have struggled to score a lot of goals since beating Hearts of Oak 3-0, leaving the Berekum based club 12th on the table with 13 points after 12 games.

“I am disappointed in some players, they think they are stars and it is not good for the team,” Coach Tanasijevic told Accra-based Asempa Fm.

“Stephen Amankona is too selfish and does not release the balls on time.”

The former Premier League Champions have struggled since winning it in 2011. However, they have been tough customers for some of the big clubs in the country.

Chelsea are serving a three match ban following an assault on referee Nuhu Liman earlier in the season. This has forced the club to play games at the Baba Yara Stadium.
