Berekum Chelsea reports Red Star to Fifa over none payment of Addy transfer fee

Berekum Chelsea are to report Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade to Fifa seeking to withdraw the transfer of Lee Addy over none payments of his transfer fee.

The defender has not returned to the Belgrade side since last week’s friendly against England.

Ghana league leaders will ask the world governing body to terminate the agreement for the player to return to Berekum.

Addy has been pivotal for Red Star since his move to Serbia at the start of the season after playing at the World Cup in June.

But the Serbian giants have not fulfilled their promise of paying the transfer fee 300,000 Euros since the transfer.

Berekum Chelsea chairman Mr. Emmanuel Kyeremeh says they are taking the necessary action against Red Star to have player withdrawn.

“We have not received Lee Addy’s transfer fee since he went to Red Star nine months ago so we are in the process of withdrawing him from them,” Kyeremeh said on the club's official website www.berekumchelsea.com.

“We have tried to talk to them about the payment but they kept failing on their promises.

“We have sent them several letters warning them of taking action against them but they refused to answer so we will take action against them at Fifa.

“We want to withdraw the player so he reverts to our club.”

Addy’s absence at the club has caused ripples in the Serbian media with Red Star promising to suspend the player.

The defender has struggled with club official for his salaries to be paid.
