Head Coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Kwesi Appiah says he is impressed by the performances of young forward Emmanuel Boateng in the Spanish La Liga.

Coach Kwesi Appiah handed the Levante striker his maiden call up to the Black Stars ahead of the International Friendlies against Japan and Iceland in June.

Emmanuel Boateng stole the headlines in Spain on Sunday after his hat-trick- first by a Ghanaian against Barcelona in the La Liga- ended their 44 game unbeaten run.

The former Moreirense forward has received loads of praises and Coach Appiah has lavished some adulations on the 21 year old.

"I watched the game and was impressed with a lot of things. He times his runs into the box well, he has good pace and he feeds well on crosses," Appiah told KweséESPN.

"I am also impressed by the profile of matches he scores in. It says something positive about a player that in a game against high profile opposition he finds his best form."

The former Ghana under 20 forward will have the opportunity to play for the national team next month and has expressed delight on his maiden Black Stars call up.

"When I look back at where I started from in Ghana and where I was playing, and against the players I was on the field with, I just couldn't believe it. I am really, really happy today," he told Hot FM.
