Boakye's Nurnberg stay in Bundesliga

Ghanaian striker Isaac Boakey will remain in the German top flight after Nürnberg beat FC Augsburg 2-0 in the Bundesliga relegation play-off.

Boakye replaced Cameroonian-born striker Choupo-Moting in the 79th minute as Nurnberg wrapped up a 3-0 aggregate win.

The former Ghana international lost his form and played a bit-part role in the club's struggle to keep retain their Bundesliga status.

Nürnberg finished this season third-from-bottom and have another opportunity of improving their performance.
