Ghanaian striker Samuel Darko Appiah has been targeted by Italian side Bologna with the view of signing him by the end of this week, Ghanasoccernet.com can reveal.
The 20-year-old, who is a former player of Italian giants Inter Milan, is a free agent agent after deciding to leave on mutual consent at the end of last season.
Having previously played for third-tier sides Cosenza and Giana Erminio on loan, the Ghanaian winger cum forward has been targeted by Bologna management.
Ghanasoccernet.com insiders say Bologna will meet the player and his representatives today to decide on terms of the move.
Darko, who was born in Italy, has got EU passport that will allow him to sign for Bologna without any strain on their slots for home-based players.
However, Serie A side director, Riccardo Bigon, might be willing to sign the non-EU player, coming from a seemingly too much of a meager pedigree indeed, just for occupying the non-EU slot reserved to a different and fancier player possibly joining next summer.
