Dwarfs defender Rashid Sumaila handed late call-up to join Ghana squad

Ebusua Dwarfs Rashid Sumaila has earned a late call-up to join Ghana's squad in Kenya for this Saturday's crucial Nations Cup qualifier at Sudan, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 19-year-old centre-back replaces right-back Yaw Frimpong who was bizarrely dropped from the initial 22-man squad at the last minute.

Sumaila was a key player in the back line of the All Africa Games medal winning team and played at the 2011 African Youth Championship in South Africa.

"We are expecting him to Accra in a few hours and get ready to leave for Kenya. He is ready for the task ahead," Dwarfs head of Marketing John Ansah told GHANAsoccernet.com

He will leave Accra on Monday night to join his teammates who will train at the Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday.
