Uriah Asante handed Ghana U23 starting role in AAG final

Ghana Under-23 coach Kwesi Appiah has made one change to his starting line-up ahead of Saturday's All Africa Games final against South Africa.

The ex-Ghana captain has decided to start experience midfielder Uriah Asante ahead of New Edubiase captain Abubakar Mumuni.

Mumuni, named the Sports Writers Ghana Premier League best player, has started all of the Black Meteors games.

Asante will pair All Stars Edwin Gyimah in the middle and will be supported by Richard Mpong and Prince Baffoe on the right and left wings respectively.

The back line remains unchanged with Rashid Sumaila, Ahmed Adams, Augustine Sefa and Francis Morton.

Ghana lost to South Africa 1-0 in their opening Group A match and need a win to clinch a first All Africa Games gold medal.

The match will be played at 16: 30 GMT.

Earlier in the day, Ghana's Under-20 female team were beaten 1-0 by Cameroon in the final.
