Former Asante Kotoko midfield dynamo Charles Taylor has lambasted the players of the club after their elimination from CAF Confederation Cup competition on Wednesday.

Kotoko were bundled out of this year's CAF's second-tier club competition after losing 7-6 on penalties to Congolese side CARA Club, having ended both legs on 1-1 stalemate.

And according to Taylor, the players are lacking maturity and urged management to acquire much more committed and experienced players to the club.

“The players are not playing for the team but individually because they(players) do not have the team (Kotoko) at heart,” he told Metro FM.

“There is no maturity in the level of play in the players and I think Dr Kyei should sack all the players and bring committed players into the team.”

He added: “The current players at Kotoko are not committed and they are only concentrated on the money and promises been promised them.

“There is no seriousness in the players and is about time the management and supporters tell the players their mind.”

Kotoko have now failed to progress past the second phase in their last three editions in continental football.
