David Addy rejects Academica loan deal

Ghana defender David Addy has rejected an offer to return to Academica Coimbra on loan for another season.

The left-back has rejoined giants Porto who sent him out on loan last term.

With the Coimbra side struggling to find a competent replacement for Addy they have returned to negotiate for another loan stint for the player.

But the Ghanaian and his managers have told Porto that Addy wants to stay at the giant side to fight for a place.

Addy started training with the Portuguese giants this month after his holidays in his home country.

He wants to fight to stay at Porto and help them compete for laurels at the highest level of European football.

Addy faces stiff competition at the Porto left-back which has prompted him to fight for his future.

The club’s first choice left-back Alvaro Pereira won the Copa America with Uruguay while his Rafa, the other Porto player in that position is on the injury list.

Despite his initial snub, Academica are confident they can reach a deal for the Ghanaian player.
