Didier Drogba has expressed delight over the sports facilities built by Marcel Desailly after the Ivory Coast team trained there on Tuesday.

Ivory Coast will play Benin in their African Cup of Nations qualifier in Accra because of the upheaval in their country.

The Elephants are using the Lizzy Sports Complex at East Legon in Accra for training ahead of their clash with Benin in Accra.

The sports complex was built by Desailly and named after his mother, will be used as a football academy to nurture the next rising stars in Ghana.

Key Ivory Coast players Emmanuel Eboue, Gervinho, Didier Zokora were among the top stars to train there.

Ivory Coast captain Drogba is delighted that Desailly, the former France captain, has returned home to help improve the fortunes of children.

“It is a fantastic academy here with world class facilities. I am happy Desailly has come back to give back something big to Ghana,” Drogba said.

Ivory Coast will train at the Lizzy Sports Complex before their game against Benin.
