Egypt-based Afum wants Hearts loan move to stay fit

Egypt-based striker Samuel Afum is looking at the possibility of re-joining Hearts of Oak on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old FC Smouha player has been affected by the cancellation of the 2011/2012 Egyptian Premier League two months ago after the country's worst football disaster.

Masry's home match aainst Ahly witnessed the infamous riots which left 74 fans killed.

Afum wants to maintain his form by playing in the remaining five matches in the Ghana Premier League.

"I don't know if it is late or not. I will talk to Smouha and see if they will allow me to join Hearts for the rest of the local league games," Afum told Ghana Sports.

"I want to maintain my form because I have my sight on winning a place in the Ghana team."

Afum scored seven goals in 13 appearances for Smouha before the league was abandoned.

He was joint Ghana Premier League top scorer for the 2009/2010 season with 13 goals.
