Elmina Sharks’ trouble deepens as assistant referee nails ‘LYING’ Premier League team after barbaric Nuhu Liman assault

Ghanaian referee Joseph Sey has given vivid expatiation on what transpired in the game involving Elmina Sharks and Medeama SC on match day 8 of the Ghana Premier League in which referee Nuhu Liman was attacked by irate supporters.

With the game goalless at halftime, Referee Nuhu Liman was reportedly hit on the head by a missile at half time which brought the game to an abrupt end due to the severity of his injuries.

But Dr Nduom, who was then in the VIP section of the stadium insisted that no supporter attacked the referee who instead tripped and fell in the process of being escorted off the field by the police during halftime.

According to renowned politician, no Sharks fan laid a finger on Referee Liman but the match was called off only because Medeama refused to play the second half citing too long of a delay in getting the second half started.

However, Joseph Sey, who was the assistant line 1 for Liman during the match, has rubbished the claims by Papa Kwesi Nduom and said the story was cooked up to throw dust into the eyes Ghanaians - referee Sey's revelation echoes with the Ghana Referees Association Chairman, Joseph Debrah's earlier statement that the Sharks bankroller is 'liar'.

"It's never true that referee Nuhu Liman slipped and injured his head, I was at the spot where a stone from the crowd hit his head and also the leg of the 4th referee Dogbetor after it broke on hitting the ground," Sey told Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM.

"Anyone who will make assertions that he slipped will do so just to cover up what they did which they know was illegal. The crowd had gathered waiting for us and so it was good it happened this way least something serious could had happened and a different story will be told. Why didn't he injured his leg but his head, they are all lies."

He further added: "It was one of the security personnel who hid us in a room till tempers came down after which we joined referee Liman at the hospital and the police station
