Do we need rocket science to tell us that the Hearts of Oak leadership is tactless in football?
When C.K. Akonnor was employed as the coach of the club, he aimed at building a new team for the future.
He bought a lot of young players, including one player I loved so much -Attakora Gyimah - because I saw how great a striker he could become.
C.K. was sacked for no apparent reason. We later heard he didn’t RESPECT because he did not allow himself to be manipulated. C.K. went.
Then Duncan came, picked the club from a dwindling position, was second at the time he was being axed and was all ready for a full season.
In fact Duncan had zoomed into full erection for action but had premature ejaculation because Togbe's board sacked him.
An experience that nearly saw fans invading Togbe's house after a massive demonstration of disagreement by the fans.
Reasons were not given for Duncan's sacking. Later we were told he didn't respect! Duncan also went.
Polo also came, had arguably the most difficult job as a coach but eventually finished 3rd on the log. He was not allowed to continue because his mandate was for 6-months. Polo's business was over!
Then Herbert Addo came, took over from Polo, had a poor start, endured moments where players were not paid salaries and bonuses for months, tried his best to shape the team and just as he was about hitting the jackpot, he was sacked for DISRESPECT.
His charge was that he had accused the management of not paying the players. I remember the post match presser where he said "How do you expect players to play well with empty stomachs? I knew he would be sacked from that day, and alas, he was sacked.
The man even died when the club had still not paid his salary arrears. So Herbert too became history.
Then the BIG BLOW - Kenichi Yatsuhashi. He came, amidst questions of why a Japanese must be appointed to coach the club. But he started well; beat New Edubiase in Accra, beat Medeama in Tarkwa and drew with Dwarfs in Cape Coast. The Phobia love was back. The passion became endless. And the fans could not wait to follow the side everywhere.
Then, just as the team was up, deeply involved and reaching orgasm, Kenichi was booted away. Even non-Hearts fans were stunned.
Players were unhappy, fans complained endlessly but the remote-controlled management only saw the need to sack him. Why? What was the reason? ... "he doesn't RESPECT Togbe", was the answer.
Then a headless and an unintelligent Sergio Traguil was hired by an equally tactless management. He ended up crumbling what Kenichi built and nicodamously left the country like an elderly person who has passed unpleasant air.
Then Frank Nuttal came, transformed second-hand players who were on the verge of being transfered into world class players and raised their market value.
All saw his handiwork in the team and fans are charged that next season will be for the Phobians. Suddenly, Hearts want to part ways with him?
The swashbuckling performance of Thomas Abbey and the stunning display of Winful Cobbinah - the stupendous emergence of Patrick Razak and the rakish show of Vincent Atinga can all be attributed to Nuttal.
But sadly, Hearts of Oak could be saying good bye to the Scott.
Hearts Board Member, Dr. Nyaho-Nyaho Tamale has hinted the club will sack Nuttal because he doesn't RESPECT!
He blames Nuttal for some players inability to turn up for preseason training under assistant coach Henry Willington and has strongly stated that he will support any move to sack Nuttal.
Don't be surprised if Nuttal is sacked or the man even decides not to return to Ghana from Scotland.
If Nuttal goes, he will be the 7th Hearts coach to have left the club in 5 year because of RESPECT.
Is someone's ego too big to be controlled, hence sacking coaches for disrespect?
