Long-term Tottenham target Alexandre Pato is being targeted by Turkish side Fenerbahce, reports Globoesporte.

Pato currently plies his trade back in his native Brazil for Sao Paulo but still attracts interest from Europe following his initial success at AC Milan.

The 24-year-old was tipped as the next big thing upon a big money move to Milan in 2007 and had a decent goalscoring record during his first four seasons.

Perhaps not as spectacular as some thought he would be but respectable none the less, until a succession of injuries halted his progress and he was shipped back to Brazil.

His situation in Brazil is currently rather complicated as he is still owned by Corinthians but plays for Sao Paulo in a loan deal until December 2015 that was part of another player moving the opposite way.

He is still able to switch clubs once again though as long as the club pays off Corinthians’ investment in full - believed to be around £12million.

News of Fenerbahce’s interest may well reawaken Spurs to a move for the player they have coveted for over a year now.

The White Hart Lane club are in the market for a striker after Roberto Soldado flopped so horribly last year leaving the inconsistent Emmanuel Adebayor and inexperienced Harry Kane as the only two available forwards.
