Ex-France captain Marcel Desailly hits at Black Stars bloated egos after World Cup failure
Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng were involved in separate incidence

Former France captain of Ghanaian descent Marcel Desailly has hit out at soared player egos in the Black Stars and believes it affected the West Africans campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The 46-year-old World Cup winner is surprised and disgusted at the performance and attitude of the Black Stars in Brazil which saw Ghana fail to progress beyond the group stage with incidences of clashes with players and coaches as well as team officials.

And, Desailly believes top level players do not carry with them negative egos.

"Top class players do not have negative egos.  You need to have the ego of the performance, ego to be available for the team, not the ego that will bring you down," he said in an interview with Ghanaian television - Tv3.

Duo Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng were expelled from the Ghana camp following separate acts of indiscipline which saw both players had clashes with the head coach and a Ghana management team member.

Muntari and Boateng are now serving indefinite international bans and have not been invited by the Ghana coach since the July.
