Former Ghana international Willie Klutse has thrown his weight behind stand-in Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu to succeed in his role as temporary head coach of the Black Stars.

Klutse, now technical head of Ghanaian Premier League side Inter Allies, reckons the task ahead of Konadu is Himalayan but is confident he will surmount the challenge.

"We the local coaches have a lot of confidence in him and we believe he will live up to expectation. The Retired National Players Association of Ghana will give him all the needed support to succeed as the coach of the Black Stars," he told Accra-based Happy FM.

Ghana is in the hunt for a new head coach after the sacking of Kwesi Appiah last month after Ghana's unimpressive start to the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association have shortlisted an experienced quintet including former Chelsea boss Avram Grant, Patrick Kluivert, Italian Marco Tardelli, Serbian Milovan Rajevac and one other for the head coach role.

Wikipedia claim the job has been handed to former Dutch star Patrick Kluivert though the coaches are yet to appear for a final interview.
