Muntawakilu Seidu believes the quality of the NigerianProfessional Football League is miles ahead of the Ghana Premier League due to the nature of pitches used and the payment structure of the club.

The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko goalie insists that the Nigerian league rates ahead of the Ghanaian league mostly because of the artificial pitches they use.

Speaking to Ghanasoccernet.com after his first season in the NPFL, the 22 year old drew the line between the two leagues and called for improved pitches in the GHPL.

"The difference between the Nigerian Professional Football League and the Ghana Premier League is that most of the team's play on AstroTurf pitches here in Nigeria, raising the quality of play above what we have here (In Ghana).

"In Ghana we play on the natural pitch and they are also not in good shape. So with the artificial pitches, the speed of the game and the quality of play are just admirable," he said.

"The field therefore determines the quality of play. We could have the same level of quality players but their pitches make the game easier and faster than what we have at home," he added.

Muntawakilu played for the two most glamorous clubs in the Ghana Premier League - Kotoko and Hearts - before joining Nigerian giants Enugu Rangers where he is currently their first choice shot stopper.
