Frankfurt forward Kevin Prince Boateng insists they were lucky with penalty calls in DFB Pokal final

Ghanaian forward Kevin Prince Boateng believes they were lucky when referee Felix Zwayer waved on play on after he fouled Javi Hernandez in the box in their BDFB Pokal triumph on Saturday. 

The former AC Milan forward who was immensely involved in the club's victory on Saturday, after setting up Ante Rebic for the opener nearly conceded a penalty after his final moments incident with Spanish midfielder Javi Hernandez.

The Ghanaian won his first silverware with the German club after joining them from Spanish side Las Palmas last summer.

In an emotional roller-coaster game, the Ghanaian, who was born in Berlin returned home to help Frankfurt win their first title since 1988.

After the game, the forward said he was surprised the referee waved on his foul but feels lucky it was over looked.

"That was a clear penalty, but he did not give it, so it's useless to discuss it." Even Boateng admitted, "I'll meet him very clearly, he really has to whistle the penalty."

The DFB Pokal success is the Ghanaian first ever silverware in Germany having previously Dortmund, Hertha Berlin and Schalke.
