Frustrated Bechem Utd quit Ghana Football

Ghanaian second-tier side Bechem United have withdrawn their affiliation with the Ghana Football Association citing machinations to halt their promotion.

United missed out on qualification to the top flight on Sunday when a on-all draw with BA Stars ended their hopes.

The club claim they have been victims of poor officiating and some invisible hands have thwarted their efforts.

"We think we have suffered enough in the Division One and so therefore it's time to call it quit," Chief Executive Ralph Gyamberah told Joy FM.

"Every other year we come out to state how unfair referees have been to us and how the system have been to us and it looks like nobody is taking us serious.

"I think yesterday we reached the crescendo and we feel enough is enough."

By this decision, the club will cease to exist and players whose contracts are running will be compensated.
