German-born midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng says he expects Fifa to approve his switch to play for Ghana in the coming 'few days' to enable him play for the Black Stars at the World Cup.

The Portsmouth ace exclusively told Ghanasoccernet that he this week completed the provision of the documents required by football world governing body to complete the switch.

"Now we have completed everything that Fifa has asked so in the next few says we should expect some good news," Boateng told Ghanasoccernet.com exclusively.

"In fact it was on Tuesday that  all the required documents were completed and sent to Fifa. So I am waiting to play for my country."

The attacking midfielder is German but his father, as the royal surname suggests, is Ghanaian, entitling him to dual nationality.

Boateng has played previously for the Germans at the under-21 level but does not see a future with them at full international level.

Coach Milovan Rajevac is keen on playinng the energetic star at the World Cup to aid the Black Stars bid for a second successive second round place.

The unprecedented prospect of brother-versus-brother in the World Cup now looks increasingly like a reality as Ghana await FIFA's decision on the eligibility of Boateng.

Injury and a move to struggling Portsmouth in the English Premier League have taken him off the radar and left him now much more amiable to the overtures from the Ghanaians.

Ghana had hoped to use him for the African Nations Cup in Angola at the start of the year but botched up the paperwork.

Their application is now under review by FIFA and a decision expected any day.

Injury not withstanding, Boateng can expect to be part of Ghana's squad and therefore face the possibility of playing against his brother.

Jerome Boateng, the younger by two years and a defender as opposed to his more attacking sibling, was on Thursday named as part of the Germany team to the World Cup.

Ghana will play Germany, Serbia and Australia in Group G of the World Cup.
