German-born Ghanaian defender Steffen Nkansah was in action for Germany's U19 side when they held England to a 1-1 stalemate inà Oberhausen in an international friendly on Monday evening.Ã
The 18-year-old Borussia Monchengladbachà center-back climbed off the bench just before the start of the second-half to replaceà Lukas Klostermann and solidified the German's defence.
England took an early lead throughà Bradley Fewster but Germany equalised throughà Timo Werner in the 69th following a strong second-half performance incensed by the introduction of Nkansah.
Nkansah, a former captain for the German's U17 side, was in commanding form and marshaled most of the German attacks, pacing fearlessly through the defence and edging his team-mates on.
He moved toà Monchengladbach in April after leaving TSG Hoffenheim and has maintained his commanding display in defence and defensive midfield.
