Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah has lavished praises on the Ministry of Youth and Sports for securing an official residence for the head coach of the senior national team as he is set to be the first occupant of the property.

The former Black Stars captain believes it’s a good step the MOYS has taken which will mitigate the cost involved in housing all Black Stars coaches.

The official residence will be the residence for all Black Stars coaches who will even come after Kwasi Appiah.

“It’s a very good step. It wasn’t good that the whole nation will always be depending on hotels for coaches of the Black Stars. For the MOYS to have been able to secure an accommodation for all Black Stars coaches from now, I commend them for their effort.

Kwasi Appiah added that he has visited he residence and is impressed with it but is waiting for it to be for the MOYS to complete the furnishing before he finally moves in.

“I have inspected the place and I was impressed. It is left with the MOYS to complete furnishing it before I can move in,” he added.

The remarkable step taken by the MOYS will earn the country over $5000 a month following a revelation by the Minister of Sports Hon. Isaac Asiamah that the state was paying $8000 a month on only accommodation during Avram Grant’s stay in the country.

Grant, the immediate-past Black Stars coach stayed in hotel for his entire two year duration as Black Stars coach – an act that compelled the MOYS to spark the search engine to look for an official residence for the current coach and subsequent ones.
