Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic is delighted to have Chelsea ace Michael Essien join him in camp for Friday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo.
The Serbian held talks with the midfielder, who had asked for a break from international duties last year, on a quick return after he was installed coach in early January.
Essien reported for duty on Monday and has trained with the side twice.
Stevanovic is excited the 27-year-old kept his word to aid Ghana's qualification campaign.Â
"When I took this job I made his return a priority and he promised he will return in June which is what he has done," Stevanovic said.
"He is a great player and a great man and we are happy to have him back," he added.
