Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade could impose a hefty fine on Ghana defender Lee Addy for reporting late to camp after last week's international duty.

The centre-back was a second half substitute for the Black Stars against Congo in the Nations Cup qualifier and played the first half of the friendly against England.

He was expected to return to the club a day after the historic friendly at Wembley but took two more days off to see his pregnant wife in Ghana.

His behaviour has angered Red Star manager Robert Prosinecki who has recommended a stern punishment for the player.

The former Berekum Chelsea player told Serbian journalists he rushed to Ghana because his wife is 9 months pregnant and suffering from serious complications.

The excuse did not go down well with the manager who has recommended a more severe punishment for the defender.

Addy was left out of the club's Super Liga match against Hajduk Kula last Sunday and will also miss the crucial second leg of the Serbian Cup against city rivals Partizan.

He will know the extent of his punishment when Red Star management meet on Monday but speculations are rife the footballer will pay a fine and have his salary slashed.
