Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi reveals others benefit from management's budgetary allocation

Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says the amount budgeted to be paid to ‘management’ for work done during tournaments is not solely for the benefit of management committee members.

A lot of issues have been raised over the quantum of monies paid to officials accompanying Ghanaian teams to international tournaments.

Ghana FA General Secretary Emmanuel Gyimah confirmed taking delivery of $577,500 as ‘appearance fee’ for ‘management’ during the 2014 World Cup which was duly budgeted for.

Several media reports suggests that the amount collected by Gyimah was shared amongst the seven-member management committee of the Black Stars.

This meant each member - including that of the late Jordan Anagblah and the unavailable Emmanuel Kyeremeh – received $82,500b each.

But Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi in seeking to clarify this widely publicized notion says people outside the management committees of national teams – with specific reference to the Black Stars – are beneficiaries of the budgetary allocation.

“The benefits of the money budgeted as honorarium for management members transcends the boarders of the management members, the secretariat and even the GFA,” Nyantakyi revealed at the Presidential Commission.

“Other members who play direct roles in the success of the team were beneficiaries.

“So for instance, in the budget you have, you will see an amount multiplied by…. for seven people but then the money is not only for the management committee.”
