Video: Ghana FA rules out Kwarasey for World Cup

The Ghana Football Association has scuttled the World Cup hopes of goalkeeper Larsen Adam Kwarasey saying the Norwegian-born is out of their plans.

The 21-year-old was hoping his nationality switch could be ratified by Fifa and push for a place in Milovan Rajevac's 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Kwarasey, who featured for Norway at youth level, has seen his switch delay for more than ten months although the Ghana Football Association says it is bent to completing it.

He is the only Ghanaian goalkeeper who has been competitive abroad after sterling performances for his Norwegian side Stromsgodset.

But he has to wait for some time after the Ghana FA said he not being considered for this year's World Cup.

"Kwarasey is not in our World Cup plans. He may be considered for other national team call-ups like the meteors. But for the World Cup his completely out," Ghana FA spokesperson Randy Abby told Ghanasoccernet.com

"The goalkeepers’ trainer has looked at all the keepers around and Kwarasey is not being considered for the world."

Kwarasey has been worried at the Ghana FA's go-slow attitude in processing his documentation but and feels he is being aided by the authorities.

"I think these documents will not expire and the FA can do it anytime for him," Abbey added.
