Ghana FA snubs Marcel Desailly for coaching job

The Ghana Football Association has overlooked ex-France captain Marcel Desailly for the Black Stars coaching job.

The AC Milan and Chelsea legend was the frontrunner to be named the next coach of the national team.

It is believed that his huge demands might have scuppered his dream of leading the four-time African champions.

Desailly in an interview with Africa Sports Newspaper last week stated that he wanted to appoint his own assistants.

He also needed the Ghana FA's position on Kevin-Prince Boateng-who has retired from the national team-and Asamoah Gyan's return from temporary retirement.

Former Black Stars Kwesi Appiah was named on Monday as the substantive coach for the team.
