Video: Kingson blames loss of concentration for South Korea defeat

Ghana first choice goalkeeper Richard Kingson has blamed loss of concentration for conceding a late goal in a 2-1 reverse to South Korea in Tuesday's international friendly.

Kingson has come under pressure again after Korea’s Ji Dong-won headed a corner into the Ghana net through his hands on 12 minutes.

Korea took the lead after 12 minutes when Ji Dong-won headed a corner into the Ghana net through the hands of goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

Ghana grabbed a deserved equalizer after 65 minutes when Sulley Muntari released Asamoah Gyan to shoot low into the Korean net.

In stoppage time, substitute Koo Ja-cheol struck the winner for the Taegeuk Warriors.

Goalkeeper Kingson parried a harmless header into play and the Wolfsburg midfielder tapped in from close range.

The ex-Blackpool shot-stopper explained that South Korea's winning goal was avoidable.

"It was lack of concentration though we did our best," Kingson told Asempa FM.

"The striker headed the ball in the direction in which I was moving and it was very difficult so I had to push it away.

"It was very unfortunate that when I did that my defenders were not around to clear it out.

"The match was okay. We had a long journey and we look a bit tired."

It was Ghana's first defeat since the quarter final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
