Ghana dropped three places in the latest FIFA ranking released on Wednesday morning for the month of June.

The Black Stars are now ranked the 25th best team but second on the African continent behind Ivory Coast who are rated 16th by FIFA.

Ghana could however move up if they beat Zambia-ranked 43-on Saturday in a 2014 World Cup qualifier before the next ranking on July 4.

World and European champions Spain extended their lead atop of the ranking as Uruguay unseated Germany to go second and reach their highest-ever position on the global ladder.

A total of 115 matches have been taken into account for the current edition, 28 of which were Brazil 2014 qualifiers and the remaining 87 friendlies.

All OFC Nations Cup matches currently being played in the Solomon Islands will be reflected in the ranking in July.
