Ghana 'not ready' to host 2018 Women’s AFCON

Ghana face being stripped off the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations after the Vice Chairperson for the country's  Women’s League Board admitted the West Africans are unprepared.

There is no clear path for Ghana after securing the right to host the eight-nation tournament next year.

The Local Organizing Committee is yet to be formed to oversee the successful organisation of the tournament which kicks start in 460 days.

And Vice Chairperson of Ghana's Women's League Board, Roslyn Amoh is a worried woman.

“Personally I’m concerned and worried. There is nothing to show that we are prepared to host the tournament,” she is quoted by starrsportsgh

“How can we even start preparations when the LOC (Local Organizing Committee) has not even been named?”

She added: “We have always been crying to host the event. Now, we have it and it looks like we are not concerned or bothered about timing and preparations.”
