Ghana Premier League Preview: Asante Kotoko vs Wa All Stars- Porcupines determined to end winless home run
Asante Kotoko

Asante Kotoko are perfectly poised to end their unwanted home drawing run when they host title holders Wa All Stars at the Baba Yara stadium on Saturday

It has been three months since the Porcupine Warriors last won a league game at home.

They have drawn all five home league matches within the period but hope to keep their four game unbeaten form intact.

There was a breakthrough on the weekend when they managed to beat Wassaman United 1-0 at the same venue to progress in the MTN FA Cup.

A win this weekend will send the Red family to third position on the league table.

Jackson Owusu is making a return into the team for Saturday's fixture after serving a suspension last Sunday.

He was shown the red card two weeks ago in Dormaa against Aduana Stars.

Saddick Adams is also available for selection on Saturday after fully recovering from an injury he suffered during his debut. He scored on the day.

Wa All Stars ended their four matches winless streak with a resounding 3-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea a fortnight ago.

They continued with another 2-1 win at away to see off second tier side FC Samartex 1996 in the round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup.

That should be a huge motivation for the Northern Blues as they play Asante Kotoko SC this Saturday.

They will climb five places to the 4th position if they pull the strings to win at the Babayara stadium on weekend as they sit 9th on the league log.

The Northerners are trekking to Kumasi without first choice goalkeeper Richard Ofori due his stint with the national team who are traveling to the United States of America to honour two friendlies.

Maxwell Baakoh returned to full training over the week after four months absence on the sidelines.
