Ghana's two biggest clubs Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will on Sunday meet in an anniversary match to honour the victims of the May 9 Stadium disaster nine years ago.
The tragedy claimed 127 lives as a result of a stampede in one of the stands during the Premier League match at the Ohene Djan Stadium then Accra Sports Stadium.
Early Sunday morning, a memorial service was held and wreaths laid at the monument erected outside the Stadium.
The commemorative match between Hearts and Kotoko will cap activities for the nine-year-old tragedy.
The May 9 disaster is the worst football tragedy to hit Africa.
