Ghana squad for WC still not complete

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac will return to Europe next week to monitor more players for the World Cup as injuries to key players are affecting his plans of naming his squad.

The Serbian is expected by Fifa to name his full provisional squad by Tuesday but injuries to key players mean there could be last minute changes to the squad even if he names his squad by the deadline.

Rajevac is expected to meet the Ghana Football Association on Friday to reveal his preliminary list before the federation releases the squad to the public.

But with players like John Mensah and Agyemang Badu still struggling with injuries, he is likely to change his squad even if he names his provisional list in future because of the injury setbacks.

Rajevac will travel to Europe from next week to continue to monitor and talk to club officials of some of the players over their fitness.

"I would return to Europe to round up on some players and their injury situation," Rajevac said.

"I would have to see everything. Check their conditions and talk to them about everything related to their injuries and recovery.

"The idea is not to force them to be back but to see if there's any chance of them being fit for the World Cup."

Ghana will face Serbia, Australia and Germany at the World Cup as the tournament starts on 11 June.
